NEW HAMPSHIRE FAMILY LAW RESEARCH GUIDE
The New Hampshire Family Law Research Guide focuses on family law in New Hampshire, providing information for individuals and legal practitioners. Family law is generally a state law issue, which means that family laws differ from state to state. Please keep in mind that this guide is focused on New Hampshire ONLY.
The Family Courts in New Hampshire, established under RSA 490-D:1, deal with all domestic relations issues including: divorce, parenting plans, abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, and parental termination. Family law also intersects with other areas of the law depending on the case. These areas include criminal law, tax law, bankruptcy law, probate law, or business law
Circumstances differ from case to case. Please seek an attorney's advice for your particular circumstances. If you are in need of an attorney, please see Legal Services for more information on how to obtain one.
