Many students have discovered Law360 while using Lexis Advance working on projects or exploring the value-added sources you access by clicking on the “rubic cube” button on the top Lexis Advance banner. For anyone who has not discovered this resource, this post describes Law360 and the several options law students have to access it.

What is Law360?

In the legal profession, information is the key to success. You have to know what’s happening with clients, competitors, practice areas, and industries. Law360 is one tool that provides intelligence to remain an expert and beat the competition. Law360 provides news and analysis on legal developments across the nation including value-added litigation filings, case settlements, verdicts, regulation, enforcement, legislation, corporate deals, and other content like podcasts.

They cover most events within 24 hours, and real-time alerts and daily newsletters make sure you know about them.

Students love Law360 to find cutting edge paper topics, keep up to date and prepare for job interviews and networking events.

How Can I Access Law360?

Law360 is designed for busy professionals. You can access it at work, at home, or on the go, and browse the latest headlines in seconds. Read this closely as access can be a little confusing. Once you know the options, access is quick and easy.

There are two flavors of Law360 – the Law360 website and searching Law360 using Lexis Advance menus.

You can only access the Law360 website while on campus. There are two ways. You can go to www.law360.com or from the Lexis start page, click on the “rubic cube” next to the Lexis Advance Research in the top banner on the left. When you click on the cube, Law360 will be an option. Click on that and you will be transported to the Law360 web with pictures and all the other value-added features mentioned above. This means that during the COVID-19 campus closure, you have no access to the Law360 Web.

When off-campus, the solution is to use Law360 on Lexis Advance to find results in the Lexis style format. It does not have all the features of the Law360 web but still links to PDF versions of documents discussed in the article. There are several ways to navigate Law360 using Lexis menus.

Here are several ways to navigate and search Law360 on Lexis:

From the start menu scroll down to Explore Content. Follow this path: Explore Content > Legal News > Law360. You can search and use filters to narrow the scope of your results. See the filter options below.

From the start menu you could also do a search in the main search box > select Legal News from the Category drop-down > filter to Law360 using the Sources filter on the left.

Both ways work well. Here is a Law360 video for you. It covers how to access both ways via the website and through Lexis Advance.

The Library hopes you explore and enjoy Law360.
