Launch of USPTO’s new cloud-based Trademark Search that replaced the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)

Please see the below Trademark Alert pertaining to the launch of USPTO’s new cloud-based Trademark Search that replaced the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) on November 30, 2023.

If you have not yet familiarized yourself with the new Trademark Search system:

 Visit the revamped trademark search webpage that features recorded training webinars including a webinar on “Transitioning from TESS” for experienced searchers.

• Explore the redesigned Design Search Code Manual (accessible from the search webpage and the Trademark Search help menu).
• Register for our upcoming PTRC representative group training “Trademark Concepts and Searching” on December 12^th from 2-3:30 pm Eastern Time. This training will introduce and delve into basic trademark concepts and will introduce trademark search strategies utilizing the new Trademark Search.

 Please note that:

 The “Find It Fast” menu at https://www.uspto.gov/ now features “Trademark search” under the Trademarks menu.

• Links to TESS will now redirect to the new Trademark Search webpage.
• Customers with questions about the new Trademark Search are welcome to reach out to the Trademark Assistance Center. They will not be able to conduct searches for customers but they will be able to share how the search tool works, explain search system features, and direct them to additional resources
