Recording Studio and Post-Production Space Policies

Updated November 2024

Purpose

This policy outlines the guidelines for the use, access, and support of the recording studio and post-production space to ensure proper use, security, and functionality for all users.

Access and Eligibility

  • Primary Users: The video studios are intended for use by faculty and staff.
  • Student Use: Student workers may use the studio for work-related reasons but must be accompanied by a faculty or staff supervisor at all times during their use of the spaces.
  • Note: Students may use the Technology Sandbox on the Law Library’s main floor for video creation, editing, and more.

Studio Use Guidelines

  • Equipment and Connectivity:
    • The provided PC has USNH OneDrive installed and running by default, which is the preferred saving location for all files. Please note where your content is being saved. Instead of using OneDrive, you may also save to any external drive (thumb drive/jump drive but it must be USB-C type)
    • The provided PC must be turned on and logged into with any USNH IT account (same UNH username and password as for Canvas and Email). The PC functions like any other school-provided computer and has all our standard applications installed. Users are responsible for logging off and turning it off when done to conserve energy.
  • Reservations:

Faculty and staff are encouraged to make an appointment to use the studios.

      • Faculty and staff can reserve the space(s) through EMS.
        • OneTouch Studio (Law Library Room 146)
        • Post-production recording studio (Law Library Room147)
    • Walk-ins are permitted if the studio is not already in use, but appointments are preferred to ensure availability.
    •  The key for the two spaces is available at the Law Library’s Reserve Desk on the main floor. Faculty and staff will be required to check the key out and return it the same day.
  • No food or drink is permitted in the studios to protect the equipment.
  • Users should leave the studio clean and organized after use. Please erase the lightboard using the microfiber cloths provided.
  • The “On Air” sign should be turned on to indicate when the studio is in use and when there should be no disruptions.  It should also be turned off when users are finished with the room.

Support and Assistance

  • Faculty and staff users are expected to review the training videos before using the studio space.
  • Fran Keefe is available to support faculty who record videos for classes.
  • IT Support: Technical issues can be reported to the IT team via email at Paul.LaClair@law.unh.edu.
  • Law Library staff at the Reserve Desk can assist with checking out the keys.
